You need a genuine link to Birmingham — living, working, caring for family, or having a local support network in the city.
Housing need
Priority is given to people who are homeless, overcrowded, living in unsafe conditions, or need to move for medical or welfare reasons.
Income & savings
Social rent is for households who cannot afford market rent. We review income, savings and circumstances as part of the assessment.
Behaviour & tenancy history
We carry out reference checks. A history of serious rent arrears, anti-social behaviour or property damage may affect eligibility.
